Behind the Scenes

Our team eats, breathes, and sleeps local.

We love it here!

It’s always challenging to write a mission statement that does not sound like a corny commercial. So here I am, telling you plainly, what my objective is as a host and with my homes.

Top of the list is that you feel like you are in a home. Real furniture, comfy beds, curated artwork that is not off the shelf and seriously equipped kitchens. Every piece in my houses has a story, there is a feeling of history in the homes.
I strive to enhance the already existing fabulous culture of Mérida with respecting original design and adding modern comforts.

I want my guests to walk in and say wow.
I want my guests to breathe a sigh of relaxation when they see the bedrooms.
I want my guests to create memories of a lifetime at my homes.

I hope you enjoy your time in my home and this amazing city.

I carefully select locally sourced amenities and organic products, ensuring every aspect of your stay is special..

When not working with real estate, I enjoy simple pleasures like cooking, trying different wines, and dancing, such as tango or salsa.

The Blue Cactus House Architects

EDGAR SOLÍS
Edgar was born in Mexico City. He graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán Architecture School in 2012. Since then, he showed special interest in lighting design, participating in projects in Mexico and abroad for 4 years. When he is not designing, he enjoys exploring new places and traveling with his family and friends.

MARIANA MARTIN
Mariana is a yucatecan Architect. She graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán also in 2012. After graduating, she worked in different architectural areas and specialties finally studying a Master’s of Architecture in Heritage Conservation at her alma mater. In her spare time she enjoys taking photos of beautiful pasta tiles and watching movies in the company of her dog, Sissi.

The Blue Cactus House Builder

Carlos Cervera is the general contractor that built The Blue Cactus House. I am thrilled with the level of quality and craftsmanship that he has overseen on this project. His company name is Dacer Proyectos Y Servicios and he has been in construction since 2016.

He was born and raised right here in Mérida and much of his family is still here. We consider each other family now as we have been connected since 2018. He does not normally do property management however, he does manage The Library House and The Blue Cactus House. Being a native local he has all the resources to repair anything or build anything, like the amazing maposteria feature wall, that takes a very specific craftsman.

During your stay, should anything come up, Carlos will see to it right away.
